Men’s Clothing that Will Never Go Out of Style

iwc-portofino-automatic There are twelve distinctive male clothing staples that will never go out of style and never wear out. If you want a great, long-lasting wardrobe, chose these and you will not be disappointed. Some items may be luxurious, but they are worth the investment for the length of time they will be yours.

First is the IWC Portofino Automatic. Coming in at $4,500-$11,700, it may seem steep, but this classic piece was worn by all the 60’s film stars and is still in vogue today. The stainless-steel watch has Swiss engineering with and an Italian touch. It’s named after the portside town of Portofino.

For a much more manageable price of $61 you can have Birdwell 301s. These swim trunks were rumored to be invented by the Southern California surfer Dale Velzy and friends at the Manhattan Beach Surf Club after they cut their white sailor pants just above the knee. The length of these shorts was practical so that their skin wouldn’t chafe on their surfboards. They have been handmade since 1961 and come in 26 different colors.

When you’re not having fun in the sun, it may be worth it to spend $275 on a Worth & Worth Aria Felt Hat. They are constructed with a handsome brim and are quite durable because they are made of rabbit hair. This piece goes perfectly with a tailored suit or a long winter overcoat.

For the hardworking man, consider the next two items, Filson Original Goatskin Gloves for $80 and Shockoe Denim’s Drugstore Cowboy Selvedge worth-and-worth-hats-3 Jeans for $235. The gloves are made of flexible leather that doesn’t add bulk but are extremely tough. The jeans will last many years and can handle being worn daily. They provide a classic look with extreme durability. The denim is sourced in the United States and comes from one of the oldest manufacturer of the classic fabric in North Carolina.

If denim isn’t your thing, check out Earl’s Apparel Gung Ho Camp Trousers for $39. These pants are American made and able to take quite a bit of wear and tear. The company operates out of Texas, but has been popping up in little boutiques across the country. They are a great piece to wear wen you are out of the office and having an outdoor adventure.

For an old classic company turn to Grenson and their G-Two Jacob Boot for $435. Grenson brand has made boots since 1866 and the years of experience shows. These boots last decades. The G-Two design combines British styles with the wing-tip brogue and the Chelsea boot, like what was worn by the Beatles.

For Classic Comfort try the American Giant Heavyweight Full-Zip Hooded Sweatshirt for $79. When it gets chilly layer on top a Golden Bear Jacket from Golden Bear Sportswear. For other accessories try Wigwam’s El Pine Socks ($15), Randolph Engineering Anniversary Aviators ($450), and the Red Wing Pioneer Belt ($115). All of these pieces are durable and will have you riding in style for many years to come.
